Non-automotive manufacturer is seeking a Controller.  Daily you will lead a team of accounting professionals and partner with production, engineering, sales and quality to assist with cost accounting, financial analysis and reporting.  Daily activities will include, but not be limited to:
  • Leading, motivating and coaching a team of accounting professionals that oversee daily, weekly and monthly accounting functions
  • Coordinating all accounting activities for the manufacturing plant
  • Completing internal and external audits
  • Preparing requested financial reports in the company ERP system, exporting to MS Excel and educating team members
  • Establishing standard cost accounting methods and processes
  • Performing journal entries and reconciliation
  • Improving accounting processes, guidelines and KPIs
  • Analysis of forecasts, budgets and financials
  • Completing other tasks as requested by management
This position requires minimal travel.  Candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced work environment, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be detailed in their analysis and be able to take ownership of projects.  Individuals will be required to educate all levels of staff on accounting and financial information.  This is a salaried position with competitive benefits.

Requirements for the Controller:
  1. A bachelor’s degree in a related field, ideally finance or accounting
  2. At least ten years of manufacturing accounting experience, with at least three years in a similar manufacturing controller position
  3. Experience working in fast-paced manufacturing
  4. Experience supervising, coaching and mentoring others  
  5. A background with cost accounting, including establishing standard cost
  6. Working knowledge of budgeting and forecasting
  7. Experience completing financial analysis
  8. Experience with month and year-end closing
  9. ERP and/or MRP experience
  10. Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Skills preferred, but not required:
  1. CPA certification
  2. MBA
  3. ERP implementation
Candidates are preferred to be local to the Tiffin, Ohio area; there is not a relocation package available at this time.
